The Children's Center for Dance Education presents their Spring Ballet—Don Quixote.

This is a one-hour-long adaptation of the full-length ballet, based on the famous novel Don Quixote de la Mancha by Miguel De Cervantes, a Spanish Novelist, poet, and playwright.

Don Quixote de la Mancha is considered the first modern European novel and is a classic of Western literature, regarded amongst the best works of fiction ever written.

The ballet was originally choreographed by Marius Petipa to the music of Ludwig Minkus and was first presented by the Ballet of the Imperial Bolshoi Theatre of Moscow, Russia. The ballet lived on in Russia well after the revolution of 1917, whereas many other ballets ceased to be performed in the Soviet period and became part of the permanent repertoire of the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre.
