GSUSA 2024 Adult Awards
Volunteer of Excellence Award
The Volunteer of Excellence award recognizes those volunteers who have contributed outstanding service while partnering directly with girls in any pathway to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through the use of the national program portfolio or who have contributed outstanding service in support of the council’s mission delivery to girl and adult members.
Appreciation Pin
This pin recognizes a registered adult Girl Scout’s exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. This service, which has had a measurable impact on one geographic area of service, helps reach and surpass the area's mission-delivery goals.
Honor Pin
An Honor Pin recognizes a registered adult Girl Scout’s exemplary service in support of delivering the Girl Scout Leadership Experience which has had measurable impact on two or more geographic areas of service, allowing the council to reach and surpass its mission-delivery goals.
Thanks Badge
This badge is the highest honor in Girl Scouts. It honors a registered adult Girl Scout whose ongoing commitment, leadership, and service have had an exceptional, measurable impact on meeting the mission-delivery goals and priorities of the entire council or entire Girl Scout Movement.
GSSI 2024 Adult Awards
The "Behind the Scenes" Award
This certificate recognizes adult and teen volunteer members who have been instrumental in the success of Girl Scouting in their service area by using their organizational skills in indirect service to girls. Examples of recipients include event coordinators, day camp directors, and service area managers.
The Community Award
This certificate recognizes an individual or group in the community that has been consistently supportive of Girl Scouting. Examples of recipients include places of worship and schools that have for years provided a place for troops to meet and additional support (clerical assistance, volunteers, publicity or communication to members, etc.), as well as community partners who have generously donated their time and facilities to offer GSLE-based program to girls in their community.
The "Innovator" Award
This certificate recognizes adult and teen volunteer members who successfully implement new ideas in their troop, cluster, service unit, or council. Examples of recipients of this award include troop leaders who develop a new activity based on a Journey theme and a service area event coordinator who uses an existing event but adds an exciting GSLE component.
Rising Star Award
This certificate recognizes new adult volunteer members in their first or second year of service who have fully embraced the Girl Scouting movement with energy and passion. Examples of recipients of this award include a troop volunteer who has led a troop to Honor Troop status in the first year and a new volunteer who has selflessly volunteered in any service area committee.
Shining Star Award
This certificate recognizes adult members who inspire, motivate, and support other volunteers (at any level). Examples of recipients of this award include cluster mentors who provide exceptional support to new volunteers, service area managers who are so passionate about Girl Scouting that attendance at service area events increases substantially, and a member of a volunteer committee/task force/board whose support is crucial in the completion of a task that would not have been accomplished without his/her participation.
