Join GSSI at Martin State Forest for a Wildflower Walk during a weekend of camping fun!
 

Martin State Forest Park Rangers will do a small presentation about Leave No Trace principles, lead guided hikes on both Saturday and Sunday, and help Girl Scouts with some nature crafts. Girl Scouts will have the chance to earn several badges, too (for all age levels).

 

Troops are invited to either attend for a day (Saturday or Sunday) or the whole weekend. If choosing to stay overnight on Saturday, troops may reserve a campsite for up to 10 people for $20.

💲 COST:  $5 per participant (includes patch) | $20 for campsite reservation | FREE park entry

⚠️ DEADLINE:  Registration and campsite reservations close on Friday, March 27

‼️ REQUIREMENTS:  All troops MUST provide their own adult ratio at this event.
If staying overnight, troops MUST have both a volunteer certified in First Aid/CPR and another certified in Overnights, Trips, & Travel, Fire Building & Basic Outdoor Skills, and Troop Camp Training.
There will be no provided meals at this event, so make sure to bring a packed lunch for both Saturday and Sunday programs, and plan to make dinner and breakfast if staying overnight.
Each participant MUST fill out an Event Permission form no later than April 3, 2026, in order to attend.
Once your registration is confirmed, an email will be sent out to your primary contact with details regarding the event.

Program Schedule:

Saturday, April 11:

  • 10 AM ET: Leave No Trace talk with Park Ranger
  • 11 AM ET: Guided Woodland Education Trail Hike with Park Ranger
  • 12 PM ET: Lunch break
  • 1 PM ET: Nature Crafts with Park Ranger
  • 3 PM ET: Troops are on their own to enjoy their campout

Sunday, April 12:

  • 11 AM ET: Guided Tank Spring Trail Hike with Park Ranger (~3 hour RUGGED hike with a lunch break)
