Join us at the Evansville African American Museum for an inspiring day with a unique opportunity to learn, reflect, and contribute to a meaningful piece of community art!
Girl Scouts and their families are invited to explore the powerful
themes of civil rights, social justice, and leadership through a
guided tour of the Evansville African American Museum. Visitors will
delve into history, learning about the contributions of African
American leaders and the ongoing impact of the civil rights
movement.
After the tour, participants will engage in a
collaborative art project inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s
iconic "I Have a Dream" speech. This hands-on art experience
encourages girls to express their own visions of justice and unity
through painting. The final piece may be displayed as the backdrop for
the museum's MLK Day community celebration, symbolizing the commitment
to positive change for future generations. Wear clothes that can
get messy!
