All Girl Scouts in grades 2-12 are invited to join GSSI's new Girl
Media Team! The team will be a part of our council's marketing and
communication strategy and allow girls to use their skills and talents
to help tell the Girl Scout story in our communities. Roles include
photography (both being in and taking photos), social media content
creation, writing stories, making videos, making media appearances and
doing interviews, and more.
If you are interested in joining the team, we invite you to join us at our Girl Media Team Callout. The event will teach girls about four topics: storytelling, interview skills, photography tips, and making a video demo reel. After the event, girls will have the opportunity to take on assignments based on their interests and skills with our full support and guidance. They may also be invited to speak to the media at events or accompany GSSI staff to TV and radio stations in Evansville, Jasper, or Vincennes for interviews. The team will also meet at least four times yearly for educational activities, including visits to a television studio, a radio station, and other activities the girls choose.
There is no cost to attend. Girls will have a headshot photo taken, so please dress neatly and bring your vest or sash. Due to space constraints, this is a drop-off event, but an adult must accompany a girl to sign in and complete a permission form if not received in advance. The form will be sent after you register.
