Attend Troop 812's April Meeting for Craft Night!

Adults are invited to join Troop 812 for a craft night full of laughter and gems! Attendees will be bedazzling to their heart's content, so bring an item to glam up, and GSSI will provide the glitter and glue.

Ideas of items to bring:

  • Brushes/combs
  • Office supplies (staplers, scissors, notebooks, etc.)
  • Picture frames
  • Medicine organizers (GSSI Staff can share pictures of theirs for inspo 😉)
  • Tools (hammers, lighters, tape measures, screwdrivers, etc.)
  • Water bottles
  • Magnets
  • If you can't think of anything or forget, we'll have some extra items available!

📍 WHERE: GSSI Council Office
5000 E Virginia St., Suite 2
Evansville, IN 47715

📅 WHEN: Thursday, May 21 | 5:30-7 PM CT

Welcome to Troop 812, GSSI's first adult-only Girl Scout Troop!

Find yourself reminiscing about your Girl Scout days? Never got to join a troop as a kid? Now is your chance to do all the Girl Scout things, as a grown-up! Just like our girl-centered troops, Troop 812 will be a place to participate in fun activities, make new friends, and maybe even learn new skills.

👧 WHO: Adults, 18+ (college students and up)

📝 TO JOIN:

  1. Register as an adult Girl Scout member ($30 and you will be asked to complete a background check).
  2. Agree to give a few (3 or more) hours of volunteer time to GSSI (more info below).

In return, we'll plan, at a minimum,  4 free community events at different organizations and locations around the Evansville area. Each of the events will correlate to one of the 4 pillars of Girl Scouts, so you'll get to do fun activities focusing on:

  • STEM: coding, robotics, chemistry, space science, etc.,
  • life skills: cooking, crafts, innovation, etc.,
  • outdoors: camping, hiking, animals, etc.,
  • and entrepreneurship: financial literacy, planning, budgeting, running a business, etc.

After each event, you can earn a badge or patch, just like the girls do! Since Girl Scouts is girl-led, you will get a say in future events as a member. We're always open to suggestions on new places in the community!

You will receive a handbook with all these details and more after you complete your registration!

This year, we are planning the following events (many of the dates are still being organized or are TBD):

  • Summer (TBD July): Cooking Class with Feed Evansville
  • Fall (TBD October): Activities at Camp Koch in Cannelton, IN
  • Winter (TBD December): Gingerbread businesses at the GSSI Office

It’s never too late to be a Girl Scout! Join Troop 812 today!
