Stewards of Children is an evidence-informed, award-winning training that teaches adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Through interviews with a diverse group of people with lived experience, experts, and treatment providers, Stewards of Children teaches adults practical actions they can take to reduce instances of child sexual abuse in their organizations, families, and communities. Stewards of Children is the flagship training from the non-profit organization Darkness to Light. Darkness to Light combines research, education, and community advocacy to pioneer new training initiatives and share best practices in child safety.

Participants may choose to attend in person or virtually;
in-person attendees are welcome to bring their own dinner. The cost
of this training has been waived due to grant funding. This
training is OPEN TO ALL COMMUNITY MEMBERS who would benefit from
this training.
All Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana (GSSI)
volunteers are strongly advised to complete this training in
accordance with GSSI's
Policies, Standards, Volunteer & Child Protection
Guidelines; this training is offered twice a year.
Facilitator's Biography - Emily Morrison
Emily Morrison, MSW, LCSW, is the Clinical Services Director
at Lampion Center, a non-profit counseling agency in Evansville,
Indiana. For the past 22 years at Lampion Center, she has worked to
provide the availability of quality mental health care and
psychoeducation. Emily has trained thousands of adults in the
recognition, prevention, and intervention of child sexual abuse as a
Facilitator of Darkness to Light's Stewards of
Children program.
