Every year, volunteers spend a day getting camp dusted off, cleaned up, and ready for campers!
This year, Camp Koch's Director, Crista Owens, and Ranger James will be asking those who volunteer during Good Turn Weekend to help with the following tasks:
- Trail maintenance
- Picking up limbs
- Trimming bushes
- Weed Eating
- Cleaning swim dock
- Removing limbs/leaves from the swim area
- Cleaning up the Dining Hall, Kitchen, and Staff House (sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors, cleaning windows, washing dishes, cleaning tables, etc.)
Clean-up takes place from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM CT each day. Lunch will be served in the Dining Hall for all those volunteering (both days). No overnight camping options will be available during this time.
Volunteers must be in Grade 2 or above to participate and all individuals must sign a Camp Permission form to attend. Forms will be included in your confirmation email and must be completed and submitted online by May 27.
NOTE: Volunteer hours will be authorized/signed off, if needed, by the Camp Director.
What to Wear/Bring to Volunteer:
- Clothes that can get dirty
- Closed-toed shoes
- Hat or something to cover your head
- Work gloves
- Broom(s)
- Bug spray
- Snacks, if needed
- Reusable water bottle
Donations Needed: (If you want to bring any to help out)
- Swiffer Pads and Spray
- Plastic storage totes
- Cleaning supplies
It takes a lot of hands to get this big project done, and we hope you will join us to ensure that camp is ready to make memories this summer!
