Brand Resources

At Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana, we’re here to empower you to share the Girl Scout story with your community! Whether you’re creating a flyer for an upcoming event or highlighting your troop’s activities in a local newsletter or school publication, we’re here to help. Below are branding resources and guidelines to ensure your materials accurately represent GSSI.

Logo & Trefoil Usage toggle arrow
Servicemark (Logo)

When creating a flyer or other branded material to share publicly, please include the official Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana servicemark (logo) and have it approved by the Council before distributing.

Complete the GSSI Servicemark Request Form to obtain permission and the color version of the logo you need.

Trefoil Usage (Council Use Only)

The Trefoil is the most recognized and protected symbol of the Girl Scouts brand and is owned by GSUSA. Its use is reserved for council-produced materials and communications only.

Troops, volunteers, and third-party vendors may not use the Trefoil on custom merchandise, apparel, or printed materials.

The Trefoil:

  • Must never be altered

  • Must not be stretched, rotated, outlined, or patterned

  • Must not contain text or images

  • Must not be used as a bullet point or decorative element

Brand Checklist toggle arrow

Use this quick checklist to make sure your flyer, form, or other Girl Scout piece follows key Girl Scout brand guidelines and standards:

Colors: All Girl Scouts materials should use three main colors: black, white and Girl Scout green. You can tell if it's Girl Scout green by the HEX number (#00b451), RGB number (R0 G180 B81), or PMS number (354). View the full color palette.

Full Name: Do not use "Scouts" alone. Ensure all references to the organization and program use our full unique name, Girl Scouts. Before shortening our Council's name to GSSI, use the full name the first time it is mentioned with the acronym in parentheses—Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana (GSSI).

Font: Please use Palatino Linotype for all Girl Scout-branded materials.

Photos: Use close-up photos on your materials and avoid using clip art or copyrighted images. Focus on the action and ensure girls are depicted in strong, active, and adventurous ways.

Logo: To receive the official logo file and usage permission, please complete the one-time Servicemark Request form under Logo & Trefoil Usage above.

Photo Release toggle arrow

To keep girls safe, it's important to know if you have permission to use images of our Girl Scouts!

Most Girl Scouts have already given permission for Girl Scouts to take and use their photos to promote Girl Scouting when they registered as a member or signed up for a council event. However, those who opted out should be identified by the event organizer to ensure their photo is not distributed publicly.

A Photo/Video Consent form is required for all non-Girl Scouts being photographed at events. Include copies of signed forms for non-Girl Scouts who are pictured in a photo that is submitted to the council for use in media, publications, etc.

Share Your Photos & Stories toggle arrow

Whether your troop explored the outdoors, volunteered in the community, traveled, or completed a fun badge or project, we want to hear about it! Your stories and photos could be featured on our social media or in future Girl Scout marketing materials.
