Relationship Skills for Violence Prevention Program
The Prevention Education Department at the Albion Center presents the ‘Relationship Skills for Violence Prevention’ (R.S.V.P) program. The curriculum offers training for middle and high school students on healthy relationship skills, recognizing red flags in friendships and dating relationships, the power and control dynamics leading to abuse, finding help for yourself or others, and bystander intervention methods. This curriculum is adaptable from 1-5 sessions and a variety of settings and situations, including in-person or via Zoom. Students and Parents will also need to complete Albion’s R.S.V.P. Participation Request Form. After the training, and with permission, girls will be anonymously surveyed for data collection purposes. Sensitive Issues Permission form required.

Randall Kleeman is a retired boat builder, construction manager, and woodworking teacher who offers carpentry workshops to young people at Tell City Wooden Boat. His shop is 1,600 sq/ft and is set up with tools, workbenches, and equipment for teaching young students about the basics of carpentry. This basic knowledge is primarily taught with the use of hand tools, not power tools.
Girl Scout Opportunities: Randall and his staff at Tell City Wooden Boat offer troops badge workshops, classes, and/or other building project sessions, including a wooden drum, garden tote, toolbox, birdhouse, boat/kayak paddle, step stool, and many others. Girls will learn about yoga (when and how it started, how it can help you stress less, and feel better physically and mentally). Program lasts 1 hour and includes a yoga fun patch.

About: We are a bookstore that actually sells books! We have all kinds: paperbacks, hardbacks, kids, adults, new, used, and rare. Community is very important to us, which has led us to host music acts, book signings, the Evansville Writers' Guild, and other events when needed. We champion the idea that everyone is welcome. We also have the best drink cooler in all of downtown.
Girl Scout Opportunities: The bookstore can help complete most badges in the Storytelling category, along with a couple of other badge steps.
Community Programs & Events: We can help with anything book-related and anything that is asked of us. We are available to host workshops and events. If time allows, we're also happy to volunteer.
