Relationship Skills for Violence Prevention Program
The Prevention Education Department at the Albion Center presents the ‘Relationship Skills for Violence Prevention’ (R.S.V.P) program. The curriculum offers training for middle and high school students on healthy relationship skills, recognizing red flags in friendships and dating relationships, the power and control dynamics leading to abuse, finding help for yourself or others, and bystander intervention methods. This curriculum is adaptable from 1-5 sessions and a variety of settings and situations, including in-person or via Zoom. Students and Parents will also need to complete Albion’s R.S.V.P. Participation Request Form. After the training, and with permission, girls will be anonymously surveyed for data collection purposes. Sensitive Issues Permission form required.

Preparing with Pedro is a free preparedness presentation for grades K-2, ranging from 30 to 45 minutes, that teaches students how to be prepared for when local disasters occur. Local Disasters can range from home fires to severe weather, among many other possibilities. With one swipe at a time, help improve humanitarian responses from the comfort of your phone! By mapping critical infrastructure and where populations are located, you help first responders in various countries to have efficient and effective responses. Community Service Bar Volunteer Opportunity with the American Red Cross
Grades: K-12
Volunteering with the American Red Cross allows girls to support the largest humanitarian organization in the world, while making a positive impact on their community. Girls can learn new skills, maximize talent, meet new people, improve their resumes, and earn the Community Service Bar Pin while making a difference in the lives of others. Volunteer opportunities are available.
Requirements: minimum of 20 service hours; troop leaders can be trained as volunteer presenters for Preparedness Programs (e.g. Pedro, Be Red Cross Ready, etc.)

Image Etiquette Workshop

This workshop is designed to teach girls how to present themselves in front of an audience. Santa Claus Museum & Village Interactive Tour
Pay a visit to the historic, 1935 Santa Claus Statue. Stop by the Original Santa Claus Post Office, where girls can sit at antique school desks and pen their letters to Santa. Make sure to tour the stunning 1880 Santa Claus Church. And stop by the Santa Claus Museum to read children’s letters to Santa dating back to the 1930s. You may take a photo at the new Santa Claus mural on the front of the building and visit Santa’s Museum Office. Don’t forget to do some shopping in the museum gift shop for a souvenir of your visit!

Solely You DIY Studio in Evansville is now offering Girl Scouts of all levels the chance to create their own one-of-a-kind wooden art!
Workshops are blocked out for 1.5 hours, but painting alone takes approximately 45 minutes.
The $15 take-home kits will include the wooden cut-out pieces and the 11-inch backer. The additional $3 will include paint, glue, and sponges to paint with. These kits can be done at troop meetings or just at home!

Tell City Wooden Boat

Randall Kleeman is a retired boat builder, construction manager, and woodworking teacher who offers carpentry workshops to young people at Tell City Wooden Boat. His shop is 1,600 sq/ft and is set up with tools, workbenches, and equipment for teaching young students about the basics of carpentry. This basic knowledge is primarily taught with the use of hand tools, not power tools.
Girl Scout Opportunities: Randall and his staff at Tell City Wooden Boat offer troops badge workshops, classes, and/or other building project sessions, including a wooden drum, garden tote, toolbox, birdhouse, boat/kayak paddle, step stool, and many others. Classes would typically be for one session lasting several hours, or in some cases, two or more sessions. Their shop has the space and equipment for classes of up to 10 students at a time.

Calling all future helpers and healthcare heroes! Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana is teaming up with the University of Evansville’s Nursing Program to give K–3 grade girls a special sneak peek into the world of nursing.
During this fun and hands-on day at UE’s Nursing Labs, Girl Scouts will:
- Take Care of “Patients”: Use lifelike mannequins that can blink, breathe, and talk — just like real people!
- Practice Nurse Skills: Try out simple nursing activities like listening to a heartbeat, taking a pretend blood pressure, and helping “patients” feel better.
- Explore Medical Tools: See and touch real nursing equipment used in hospitals and clinics.
- Discover Germ Science: Learn how germs spread and practice ways to stay healthy — including fun handwashing experiments!
- Learn About Nurses: Meet real nursing students and find out what it's like to help people every day!
This exciting program is the perfect way for young Girl Scouts to

Through this unique collaboration, participants will step into the role of a nurse for the day, engaging in a variety of interactive activities inside UE’s state-of-the-art Nursing Labs. Activities include:
- High-Fidelity Simulation: Practice clinical skills on lifelike high-fidelity mannequins that respond like real patients.
- Nursing Simulation Activities: Participate in realistic medical scenarios, helping Scouts develop critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

In an emergency, every second counts—and anyone can be a hero. Join the University of Evansville for a hands-on Stop the Bleed training, designed specifically for Girl Scouts in grades 6 and up.
Participants will learn how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and practice the skills needed to respond effectively until professional help arrives. Using training kits, girls will gain confidence in techniques such as wound packing and tourniquet application.
This evidence-based, nationally recognized program empowers young leaders with the tools to take action, save lives, and serve their communities in critical situations.
Girls will:
- Understand how to identify severe bleeding
- Learn and practice hands-on emergency response techniques
- Receive a certificate of participation
- Earn credit toward the First Aid badge (Cadette, Senior, or Ambassador level)
Why It Matters:
In just minutes, uncontrolled bleeding
can become life-threatening. With the right training, Girl Scouts can
be ready to act with courage, confidence, and character when it
matters most.

Dog Bite Prevention (K-12)
Encompasses safety procedures around dogs, from family pets to neighborhood strays.
Pet Care Responsibility (K-8)
Teaches why & how to be a responsible pet owner for the life of the pet, be it a gerbil, dog, or anything in between.
Recycling for the VHS (1-12)
Explains how to help both the VHS and the environment by recycling unused home and office items.
Pet Overpopulation and Spay/Neuter (4-12)
Helps students to understand the enormity of the homeless animal problem and the importance of spaying & neutering.
VHS and the Community (6-12)
Explains the role of our Humane Society in the community and describes the programs we offer.

The PEP program will cover the basic components of pet care, allowing girls to be informed about domesticated dogs and cats.

We Are All Philanthropists
Location: Anywhere! Anytime! This is a special self-paced patch program for GSSI girls
Cost: The program is free (unless you order a physical copy of the book), but the patch does have a cost to purchase.

Wild at Art – Creative Studio

Wild at Art is a unique Splatter paint room, creative studio, and event space for up to 40 girls. Girls can make slime, attend painting classes, or enjoy the splatter room!

Yoga with Sarah Loehr

Yoga Program with Certified Yoga Instructor Sarah Loehr
Girls will learn about yoga (when and how it started, how it can help you stress less, and feel better physically and mentally). Program lasts 1 hour and includes a yoga fun patch.

About: We are a bookstore that actually sells books! We have all kinds: paperbacks, hardbacks, kids, adults, new, used, and rare. Community is very important to us, which has led us to host music acts, book signings, the Evansville Writers' Guild, and other events when needed. We champion the idea that everyone is welcome. We also have the best drink cooler in all of downtown.
Girl Scout Opportunities: The bookstore can help complete most badges in the Storytelling category, along with a couple of other badge steps.
Community Programs & Events: We can help with anything book-related and anything that is asked of us. We are available to host workshops and events. If time allows, we're also happy to volunteer.
